The 2010 Calgary International Children's Festival, presented by Qualico Communities, officially came to a close on Saturday, May 29.
Over the five day Festival we celebrated artists from around the world including Belgium, West Africa, Brazil, the United States and Canada.
Children from ages 2 to 102 enjoyed over 80 performances and workshops inside state-of-the-art theatres at the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts. On Olympic Plaza hundreds of young people experienced hands-on arts activities. It was a memorable week for everyone! Thank you to all of our patrons, volunteers, sponsors, suppliers, community partners, Friends, artists, Board and staff for making this year's Festival a success!
Did you know...
Through the generous support of sponsors, individual donors and public funders the Festival manages to maintain school ticket prices at $7.75 / ticket. The actual cost of a non-subsidized ticket would be over $40.
Festival artists provide age recommendations for their performances. Children who are younger than the recommended age usually become disinterested. Artists always like their audience to enjoy the experience!
